Worse Couple: George/Izzie VS George/Callie : greysanatomy
Becoming a Resident and Relationship with George Edit. While George was married to Callie, George and Izzie got drunk and slept together. O'Malley and Stevens embark on a short-lived relationship, only to discover there He and Callie divorced later and Izzie and George started up a relationship. The only thing that held this relationship together was Cristina applauding . The Original Interns: Meredith, Cristina, George, Izzie, and Alex.
Callie is determined to be there for George and his family, at the same time Callie is unaware that George knows about her night with McSteamy.
When he confronts Callie about this, she tells him that she would never betray him; that she and George were broken up. His body goes into organ failure and the family agrees to let him go in peace.
George deals with his grieving by becoming a sex machine, which freaks Callie out, and Callie asks Izzie to help her look after George. They run off to Vegas and seal the deal.
Bailey steps in and assigns the interns to their cases. She tells Callie and George to take no notice of their jealousy and congratulates them again. Later in the locker room Izzie asks Callie: After watching that scene; so was I. This was a nasty side of Izzie I'd never seen before.
I had trouble watching this story arc because Izzie is a well-loved character as far as the fans are concerned, however this storyline caused many fans to hate Izzie. George effectively tells her to back off, but does she? Izzie keeps up her snide and nasty comments towards Callie, and eventually this blows up into a huge fight between Callie and George which ends with Callie kicking George out of their hotel room. He runs to Izzie, and tells her he needs to vent with alcohol, one thing leads to another and they end up sleeping together.
She tells herself that their love-making was something falling into place. Seems like she has forgotten all about George's wife Callie.
When George remembers he confronts Izzie, and at first they are speechless. They meet up later in the locker room to talk. George realises that Izzie expects George to tell Callie so they can be together.
George refuses to hurt Callie in this way and he chooses to remain in his marriage. Despite George telling Izzie to leave it alone, she refuses to listen and hounds George tirelessly. To the viewers she was a home-wrecker. George does not believe in divorce, so the thought of ending his marriage is very painful and if Izzie really was his best friend she would back off and let it be.
Knightdeeming it "a ratings ploy". Everyone in dark colors, everyone dressed somberly. As if they were in mourning.

Only Izzie is in happy pink. Rhimes explained that "Izzie doesn't sleep around".
He can do honorable things even though he's cutting and sarcastic. I would like to ultimately see them together, if not this season, then next. Voices wrote that Stevens in the third season "has become more condescending and passive aggressive herself, more than anyone else. I have a really hard time with that kind of thing. I'm maybe a little too black and white about it. I don't really know Izzie very well right now. She's changed a lot. People who are so infallible, perfect and moral tend to be the first to slip and fall.
Showrunner Shonda Rhimes puts a lot of pressure on Heigl to carry many intense storylines, and she's up to the challenge. He deemed her the show's heroine, and wrote that: Bailey Chandra WilsonIzzie seems to be the only adult intern at Seattle Grace; the character has achieved a depth lacking in her fellow interns.
Otis Brawley, chief medical officer at the American Cancer Societycommented that Izzie's treatment options were unrealistic. Whereas in the show she was offered the drug interleukin-2in reality the drug is never recommended to patients when melanoma has spread to the brain, as it can cause bleeding and strokes.

Brawley explained that such patients would instead be offered radiosurgery. Only Izzie remembered but after a while George did too. He decided to pretend it never happened and didn't tell Callie. However he and Izzie shared another kiss and on Cristina's wedding day she told him that she would support him and Callie if he loved her but that she still loved him.
After eighteen days of ignoring her, George told Izzie he wanted to be with her too but he needed to break up with Callie first.

It took a while but eventually he told Callie he slept with Izzie. However, she misunderstood him and forgave him and took him back. He and Callie divorced later and Izzie and George started up a relationship. However, after failing to recreate the great sex they had before, they decided that although they had great chemistry it wasn't the right time. They decided to stay friends and maybe have a romantic relationship someday.
When Izzie started seeing Denny, George was the first to notice something was wrong but she denied any accusations. George took it hard when Izzie told Cristina about her cancer before him.
He started to avoid her but almost immediately he befriended her again. He supported her through the cancer, reminding her she was a doer. When George was rushed into a surgery and Izzie started to flatline, in a dream of some sort she went into an elevator and then saw George when the doors opened signifying his death.
Callie Torres After his disastrous incident with Meredith, George focused on avoiding her. However, he fell down the stairwell at SGH and went to ortho to get his arm fixed. He met Callie and she gave him her phone number. He didn't call her for a while so Callie refused to speak with him. However he soon called and she forgave him.2x23 George, Callie and Izzie...a
They began dating, much to the disapproval of Izzie. At the prom, Callie confessed to George that she loved him, but he didn't respond, as Izzie needed him for an emergency. George later told her that he didn't love her yet, but he could, and he didn't want to say it until he really meant it. However, George continued to leave Callie wheneber Izzie or Meredith had a problem, which prompted Callie to break up with him and start sleeping with Mark Sloan.
After discovering Callie was sleeping with Sloan he refused to have any relationship with her. But they grew close again when George's father was admitted, and they kissed. After George's father died, George became addicted to sex to forget about his pain, and later he proposed to Callie. They flew to Las Vegas, and after two weeks they returned to Seattle Grace as a married couple. After speaking with his friends, George became worried that he made the wrong decision, but eventually decided that he did make the right choice.
However, after a fight with Callie, he went to visit Izzie.
